In short
Jotwai is a Markdown editor that runs on your own computer or phone. Your notes stay on your device. We do not have a copy of them, and there is no account to create.
We collect no usage data of any kind: no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting. The app does not even know who you are: it never asks Google for your name or email address.
The app goes online only when you do something that needs the internet: connecting Google Drive, checking for updates, or showing a picture that lives on the web. Every case is listed in section 6, and none of them sends your notes to us.
1. Who we are
Jotwai is published by:

For the purposes of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), iA Group Co., Ltd. is the Data Controller for the limited personal data described in section 5.
2. What the app stores on your device
Everything below is written to a folder on your own device and is never transmitted to us:

You can delete all of it by uninstalling the app and removing its data folder. Deleting it does not touch your notes, because your notes were never in there.
Email files (.eml and .msg) are opened read-only, on your device. Pictures that an email would load from the web stay blocked until you choose to show them for that message, because loading them can tell the sender that you opened it. Attachments you save are marked as downloaded from the internet, so your system treats them with the same caution as any other download.
We have no access to any of this. There is no server holding a copy.
3. Google Drive sync: optional, and off unless you turn it on
If you choose to connect Google Drive, the notes in your Knowledge Base are copied to your own Google Drive account, not to us. Sync covers the Knowledge Base only: other files you open or save with Jotwai stay where you keep them. We operate no sync server and never receive your files.
We request one permission only: drive.file. This is the narrowest Drive
permission Google offers. It grants access only to files the app itself creates
or that you explicitly open with it. The app cannot see, list, or read anything
else in your Drive.
We do not request your name or email address. The app asks Google for no profile information at all, so we could not identify you from the app even if we wanted to. What is stored on your device is an authorisation token and its expiry time, and nothing that names you.
Your use of Google Drive is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can revoke the app's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, which takes effect immediately and independently of anything we do.
Jotwai's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. Automatic updates
To tell you when a new version is available, the app periodically asks our server which version is current. That request necessarily reveals your IP address and the version you are running, as any request over the internet does.
We use this only to serve the file. We do not build profiles from it, and we do not combine it with anything else.
5. The website
The app and the website are separate. The website collects personal data in two cases only.
If you send us a message from the contact form (jotwai.com/contact), we receive what you type: your email address, your message, and any optional details you add (name, operating system and app version, organisation and number of users). The message also notes the country your connection comes from and the name of your browser, which helps when answering questions about a problem.
- Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box and sending the form.
- Use: to reply to you and deal with what you asked. Nothing else. No newsletter, no marketing.
- How it is delivered: the form becomes an email to our support mailbox, sent through Cloudflare's email service. The website itself keeps no copy. Your IP address is used for a moment to limit how many messages one connection can send, and is neither stored nor put in the email.
- Retention: in our support mailbox for as long as we need it to deal with your message, and no longer than 2 years after our last reply, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share it with anyone.
If you enter your email address to be notified when the mobile version is released, we store that address for that single purpose.
- Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form.
- Use: one notification when the mobile app is released. Nothing else. No newsletter, no marketing, no third parties.
- Retention: until we have sent that notification, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.
- Sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share it with anyone.
To be removed, email support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com">support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com and we will delete it.
6. What we do not do
We think this list matters as much as the one above:
- ❌ No analytics or telemetry. The app contains no analytics library of any kind. We do not know how many documents you have, which features you use, or whether you opened the app today.
- ❌ No crash reporting. If the app hits an error it shows the message on screen and asks you to send it to us yourself. Nothing is transmitted automatically.
- ❌ No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- ❌ No selling or sharing of personal data.
- ❌ No account. There is nothing to sign up for.
The app connects to the internet only in these cases:
- Google Drive sync (section 3):
accounts.google.com,oauth2.googleapis.comandwww.googleapis.com, and only after you connect Drive. - Update checks (section 4): our own update server,
dl.jotwai.com. - Pictures that live on the web. If a note, or something you paste, contains a picture hosted on a website, the app fetches it from that website: to show it, to keep a copy when you paste, or to include it when you export to Word or PDF. That website sees an ordinary request from your IP address, just as it would from your browser. Notes whose pictures are on your device make no such request.
- Pictures inside an email, only after you choose to show them for that message.
- Links you click open in your own web browser, not inside the app.
None of these requests carries your notes, and only the update check reaches us.
7. Your rights under the PDPA
If you are in Thailand, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and request a copy
- Rectify it if it is inaccurate
- Erase it
- Restrict or object to our processing of it
- Data portability: receive it in a machine-readable form
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
- Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC)
In practice the only personal data we hold about anyone is a message sent from the contact form or a waitlist email address (section 5), so most requests will be answered simply by confirming what we have and deleting it.
To exercise any of these rights, email support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com">support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com or choose "Personal data (PDPA)" on the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
Waitlist email addresses are stored on infrastructure protected by access control and encryption in transit (HTTPS). Because we hold so little, the impact of any incident is correspondingly small. The strongest protection for your notes is that we never had them.
9. Children
Jotwai is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. International transfer
The website and update server are operated on cloud infrastructure that may process requests outside Thailand. This applies only to the data described in sections 4 and 5. Your notes are never transferred anywhere, because they never leave your device.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how personal data is handled, we will say so on the website rather than change the text quietly.

4. การอัปเดตอัตโนมัติ

5. เว็บไซต์
แอปกับเว็บไซต์แยกจากกัน เว็บไซต์เก็บข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลใน 2 กรณีเท่านั้น
หากคุณส่งข้อความผ่านแบบฟอร์มติดต่อ (jotwai.com/contact) เราจะได้รับสิ่งที่คุณกรอก ได้แก่ อีเมล ข้อความ และรายละเอียดที่ไม่บังคับซึ่งคุณใส่เพิ่ม (ชื่อ ระบบปฏิบัติการและเวอร์ชันของแอป ชื่อองค์กรและจำนวนผู้ใช้) ในข้อความยังระบุประเทศที่การเชื่อมต่อของคุณมาจาก และชื่อเบราว์เซอร์ที่ใช้ เพื่อช่วยในการตอบคำถามเรื่องปัญหาการใช้งาน

แอปเชื่อมต่ออินเทอร์เน็ตเฉพาะกรณีต่อไปนี้เท่านั้น:

- รูปในอีเมล เฉพาะหลังจากคุณเลือกแสดงรูปสำหรับอีเมลฉบับนั้น
- ลิงก์ที่คุณคลิก จะเปิดในเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณเอง ไม่ได้เปิดในแอป
ไม่มีคำขอไหนที่แนบโน้ตของคุณไปด้วย และมีเพียงการตรวจหาอัปเดตเท่านั้นที่มาถึงเรา
7. สิทธิของคุณตาม PDPA
หากคุณอยู่ในประเทศไทย คุณมีสิทธิ:
- เข้าถึง ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลที่เรามีเกี่ยวกับคุณ และขอสำเนา
- แก้ไข ให้ถูกต้อง หากข้อมูลไม่ถูกต้อง
- ลบ ข้อมูล
- ระงับ หรือ คัดค้าน การประมวลผล
- ขอให้โอนย้ายข้อมูล ในรูปแบบที่อ่านได้ด้วยเครื่อง
- เพิกถอนความยินยอม เมื่อใดก็ได้ โดยไม่กระทบการประมวลผลที่ทำไปแล้ว
- ร้องเรียน ต่อคณะกรรมการคุ้มครองข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล (สคส.)
ในทางปฏิบัติ ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลที่เรามีมีเพียงข้อความที่ส่งผ่านแบบฟอร์มติดต่อ หรืออีเมลในรายชื่อรอเวอร์ชันมือถือ (ข้อ 5) คำขอส่วนใหญ่จึงตอบได้ง่าย ๆ ด้วยการยืนยันว่าเรามีข้อมูลอะไรของคุณ แล้วลบให้
ใช้สิทธิเหล่านี้ได้โดยส่งอีเมลมาที่ support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com">support-jotwai [at] iagroupcompany.com หรือเลือก "ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล (PDPA)" ในหน้าติดต่อเรา เราจะตอบกลับภายใน 30 วัน
8. ความปลอดภัย
อีเมลในรายชื่อรอถูกเก็บบนโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่มีการควบคุมการเข้าถึงและเข้ารหัสระหว่างส่ง (HTTPS) เนื่องจากเราถือข้อมูลไว้น้อยมาก ผลกระทบหากเกิดเหตุจึงน้อยตามไปด้วย และเกราะที่แข็งแรงที่สุดของโน้ตคุณ คือการที่เราไม่เคยมีมันตั้งแต่แรก
9. เด็ก
Jotwai ไม่ได้มุ่งเป้าไปที่เด็กอายุต่ำกว่า 13 ปี และเราไม่ได้เก็บข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลจากเด็กโดยรู้เห็น
10. การส่งข้อมูลออกนอกประเทศ
เว็บไซต์และเซิร์ฟเวอร์อัปเดตทำงานบนโครงสร้างพื้นฐานคลาวด์ซึ่งอาจประมวลผลคำขอนอกประเทศไทย เรื่องนี้ใช้กับข้อมูลตามข้อ 4 และข้อ 5 เท่านั้น โน้ตของคุณไม่เคยถูกส่งไปที่ไหนทั้งสิ้น เพราะมันไม่เคยออกจากเครื่องคุณ
11. การเปลี่ยนแปลงนโยบาย
หากมีการแก้ไข เราจะปรับวันที่ด้านบน และหากการแก้ไขกระทบวิธีจัดการข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ เราจะแจ้งบนเว็บไซต์ แทนที่จะแก้ข้อความเงียบ ๆ
